Celebrating the essence of British craftsmanship and a passion for quality, we’ve proudly collaborated with Community Clothing on a limited collection of rugby shirts.
Established in 2016 by designer Patrick Grant, Community Clothing have made an impact with their ‘every-day, every-season’ staples, allowing them to support local British garment makers year-round. Each piece of clothing highlights an authentic blend of tradition and contemporary style that have been made with the utmost care.
“I wanted them to be as good as the shirts I wore when I played in the 1980’s and early 1990’s.”
In a conversation about the rugby, founder Patrick Grant explains: “When we set about developing the rugby shirt, I wanted them to be as good as the shirts I wore when I played in the 80's and early 90’s. The Community Clothing rugby uses the same high-quality, heavy-duty pure cotton jersey; reinforced with cotton herringbone tape, with a cotton twill collar and rubber buttons. And every one sewn right here in the UK by people who know how to sew a great shirt. I am confident you won’t find a rugby shirt this good for even twice the price.”
We collaborated with Patrick and the team every step of the way, from our conversations around fit and fabrics, to meeting garment-makers Roy and Helen in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, as they worked on each shirt.
It's culminated in a collection that epitomises authenticity in every stitch. The colourways are incredibly versatile, with a fitted cut that won't compromise on comfort (thanks to the flexible jersey fabric) and a rounded shoulder to lend a relaxed touch to the overall aesthetic.
